She got her first role in a Nollywood movie in 2001. In 2011, she won the award for Best Actress, at the Afro Hollywood Awards.
Jay Z's Jeans Cost Less Than You Probably Think:
Times are tough, even for celebs. So when someone as high profile as rapper Jay Z is spotted heading out to see a movie with Beyonce wearing his G-Star New Riley 3D Loose Tapered in Plate denim
(whew, take a breath), onlookers immediately suspect a hefty price tag.
But surprisingly enough, according to The Gossip Table, these jeans run
only about $220.
Granted, for us average folk, that's still pretty pricey, but with a net worth that's reportedly around the $500 million range, it's good to see Jay Z staying somewhat grounded.
Rihanna's Naked Body Too Much for Some Dubliners,
Rihanna's topless posters for her "Diamonds" world tour
have offended the sensibilities of some Dublin residents, who took it
upon themselves to cover her up by stapling clothes to the provocative
images.
The posters feature the image from her "Unapologetic" album and
depict the singer completely naked from the waist up, covered only by
her elbow and the album title. She will be performing at the Aviva
Stadium on June 21, and hopefully the modesty vigilantes will not be
present at what is sure to be a titillating show.Twitter user Paul Duane commented, "Somebody has stapled a dress to this Rihanna poster on Church St. Well done, you complete nutcase."
Charlene Lydon tweeted another image, captioning it, "North King Street, Dublin says a resounding NO to Rihanna's boobs!"
The DIY-style cover-up is reminiscent of the reaction to H&M ads featuring a bikini-clad Beyonce in New York's Lower East Side, when locals covered up her lower half with a sheet of paper every day.
No word from Rihanna yet about the kerfuffle. However, we bet she's unapologetic.
Anambra State Homosexuals Protest,
Litigants and witnesses at the Atani Chief Magistrate Court in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State Wednesday witnessed a mild drama in the court premises as some people who claimed to be homosexuals nearly disrupted court proceedings in solidarity with two suspected homosexuals standing trial for allegedly committing same sex offence.
As early as 9 .00am, a large number of men with feminist outlook started gathering at the court premises to the surprise of the people around and it was only then that information filtered into the area that they came to identify with two of their members who were arrested by the police and charged to court for same sex violation related offense.

The first black Miss Israel
At just 21 years old, Yityish Aynaw has gone on a remarkable life
journey from a little girl playing barefoot in an Ethiopian village to
an Israeli beauty queen who's ready to shine on the world stage.
Last February, the
stunning 21-year-old grabbed international attention after becoming the
first woman of African descent to be crowned Miss Israel at the
country's beauty pageant.
"To be first, you have
all the attention focused on you and I have to represent my whole ethnic
group because through me they see the models," says Aynaw, who will
represent Israel at the next Miss Universe contest. "Through me they see
and discover our whole ethnic group."Aynaw was born in Chahawit, a small village in northern Ethiopia, near
the city of Gondar. Her father died when she was young and when she was
just 12 years old she lost her mother to a painful illness. Heartbroken,
she arrived in Israel with her brother to live with their Ethiopian
Jewish grandparents. As the first ever black Miss Israel, Aynaw is seen by some as a beacon
of hope that racial prejudice is beginning to fade away in the country.
Aynaw says that she's never been the victim of racism but adds that
there have been instances where friends of hers have been treated
differently because of the color of their skin.A pained little girl who has turned into a strong young woman, Aynaw is
now hoping to carve out a successful career in fashion and also serve as
a role model for her community.
Chris Brown's Court Hearing:
Between pleading guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, brawling with other artists earlier this year and being investigated for a hit-and-run case from just last month, Chris Brown hasn't quite received a role-model reputation. But don't worry, it doesn't bother him one bit.
After suiting up to attend his court appearance in Los Angeles yesterday (June 10), the 24-year-old singer posted on Twitter, "I like being the person everyone hates. Makes life exciting."
Brown's court order was part of his probation review hearing that resulted from the Los Angeles County District Attorney Office's dissatisfaction with his court-ordered community service. And potential probation violation isn't the only offense facing Brown at the moment -- he could also be potentially prosecuted for criminal battery if his January fight with Frank Ocean resurfaces.
The preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for July 15, and it looks highly likely that Brown will keep boasting about his bad-boy ways until then.
West Was My Slave Name, Yeezus Is My God Name'
The festivities took place at Manhattan's Milk Studios, but rather than following the countless PR and fashion events that Milk has hosted before, West instead chose the Meatpacking District building's loading dock. Attendees were let in one by one, a slow process that would have led one to believe that only a select few were being given the privilege of the record. That was not the case: The venue was open to the street, so anyone within earshot could hear the album which had hitherto been shrouded in secrecy, and anyone within eyesight could see the basic video imagery that went along with the audio.
That's in keeping with West's public -- and global -- debut of "New Slaves," but there's more to the theme than a simple stunt. Though the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, Theophilus London, Timbaland and Q-Tip stopped by, West seemed most pleased to see that his work had the potential to be heard by passersby. Long after Jay-Z and Beyonce had stopped their all-out, hands-in-the-air dance-along to the vibrant album, West became excited when a city bus drove by and grabbed the microphone to remark on the fact that the event was "out here in the middle of New York City blasting music and nobody is shutting us down."
West also put one matter of confusion to rest: "I want to explain something about the album title. Simply put, 'West' was my slave name and 'Yeezus' is my god name."
2 Chainz Arrested In LAX For Marijuana Possession
On Monday, a San Francisco Police Department official confirmed with MTV News that 2 Chainz was a victim in a robbery case, but the "No Lie" spitter took to Twitter to combat the reports. "Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch , money etc. 2 answer that question," he wrote on the social networking site. "Rule#2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies."
He didn't stop there. Immediately, Chainz sent another tweet professing his love for marijuana. "Rule# 3 we definitely got geeked up in San Fran , best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress," he added.
Back In February, Deuce was arrested in Maryland for possession of marijuana after State Police pulled over a van that he was riding in with six other people. In April, he was found not guilty of the charges. "Boxing gloves I beat the trial," Chainz tweeted after the verdict came down, quoting his breakout hit "Spend It."
