The incredible mile-long floating CITY - complete with schools, a hospital, parks and an airport for its 50,000 residents

Designed by the Florida-based Freedom Ship International, the floating city, concept pictured, is set to cost $10 billion and weigh 2.7 million tonnes - making it too large to ever dock. The ship would spend the whole time at sea, circling the globe once every two years, powered by solar and wave energy.

Visitors and residents would be able to leave the ship, either by plane or by boat thanks to a dock at the rear, concept pictured, to visit cities and countries where the ship will also pick up supplies as and when needed.

The Freedom Ship, concept pictured, is a mile long, 25 storeys high and features schools, hospitals, businesses, parks, promenades, an art gallery, a shopping centre, casino and airport on the roof.

The planned route, pictured, would take the ship from the east coast of the U.S across the Atlantic into Europe, passing Italy before looping back and sailing around Africa and across to Australia. It would then travel into Asia before spending the end of the year on the west coast of the U.S and South America.

This drawing shows a cross section of the ship. If built, the whole vessel would be 750ft wide, 350ft tall and 4,500 ft long. This would make it four times longer than the Queen Mary II cruise ship.

Federal Government gives ASUU 1 week ultimatum to call off strike

During a press briefing in Abuja this morning, the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike told journalist that the Federal Government has given the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) one week ultimatum to call off the ongoing strike.
ASUU execs and President Jonathan were supposed to meet this week but the meeting is yet to hold. The ASUU strike began July 1, almost 5 months later, no resolution in sight.
The FG also said any Academic staff who fails to resume on or before December 4th automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution. Pro-chancellors of the various universities and the National Universities Commissions (NUC) have been directed to ensure compliance of this directive.

Lamar Odom is demanding $10m to end his 4-year marriage to Khloe Kardashian!

Sources say the troubled NBA star has also taken a page out of his fellow hoopster Kris Humphries’ playbook by demanding Khloe’s $875,000 engagement ring back before he’ll agree to zip his lips about the K-clan’s secrets. Humphries got Kim Kardashian to return her $2 million engagement ring as part of their divorce agreement following their 72- day marriage in 2011. Odom, 34, laid out his conditions after “momager” Kris Jenner ordered Khloe, 29, to sit down with their attorneys and hammer out a divorce deal, an insider says.

“Kris and Khloe are very worried about Lamar. He’s a loose cannon, and he has a lot of dirt on the family and nothing to lose,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “He knows all about their extreme surgery procedures – when, how often and how much – and the pressure put on the younger girls to follow suit.”

“Lamar is also prepared to destroy Khloe’s reputation by discussing their sex tape, and how she targeted him and tore his family apart.”

Meanwhile, with statistics showing the Kardashian family’s popularity is plummeting, matriarch Kris apparently wants the divorce deal done ASAP. “Kris is insisting on a confidentiality agreement to ensure Lamar can never discuss his life with the Kardashians either in print or verbally,” noted the source. “He’s not signing anything until they cough up the dough.”
