Man jailed for stealing Gov Aregbesola’s phone

A 31 year old named Kevin Ighodalo (pictured above), has been sentenced to 45 years imprisonment by an Osogbo High Court for stealing a Sony Ericsson phone said to be worth about N50,000 belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.

Ighodalo stole the phone from the pocket of Aregbesola on November 27, 2010, when the governor was being inaugurated at Government Technical College, Osogbo.

Justice Oyejide Falola, who heard the case, found Ighodalo guilty on six counts, which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.

He was sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for the first three counts and five years for each of the last three which included impersonation, obtaining property by falsehood and collusion.

Falola, who ruled that Ighodalo deserved the jail term, held that the convict used the phone to obtain N500, 000 from the Owa of Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, while he obtained N200, 000 from Mr Shengen Rahman, an associate of the governor.

The jail term, which Falola pronounced will run concurrently, means that Ighodalo will spend the next 10 years behind bars.

Assistant principal state counsel, Mr Biodun Badiora, told the court that the convict had served six-year imprisonment in Ikoyi prison custody in connection with a murder case in 2005.

Counsel to Ighodalo, Mr. Ameachi Ngwu, prayed the court to commit him to community service, stressing that the convict should not be incarcerated but rather be placed where people could see him as a convict.

Balotelli ‘tells Real Madrid’: Win and you can have sex with my girlfriend

 

 Mario Balotelli might have condemned himself to the doghouse with girlfriend Fanny Neguesha after he reportedly made a bizarre comment about the Belgian model ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The former Manchester City striker is apparently so confident that Dortmund will qualify for the Champions League final, he is claimed to have said that he would allow the Spanish side’s squad to sleep with his girlfriend if they managed to upset the odds and pip the Germans to Wembley.

In Spanish newspapers AS and Marca, the Italy international was quoted as saying: ‘If Real Madrid come back in Champions League, I’ll let my girlfriend sleep with them!’

Dortmund ran Real off the park a week ago at the Westfalenstadion, with Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Marco Reus tearing a flimsy-looking defence apart.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich target Lewandowski netted all four goals in the 4-1 victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Michael Jackson ‘drank six bottles of wine a day in weeks leading to death

                  The godfather of Michael Jackson’s children has come forward to say that the King Of Pop drank six bottles of wine a day in the weeks leading up to his death.
              His friend Mark Lester has claimed that the troubled star, who died of acute Propofol intoxication in 2009, used to get him to smuggle the alcohol into hotels past his strict security team in a desperate attempt to beat his insomnia.
Mark, who found fame as a child playing Oliver, also went on the claim that the Thriller singer was ‘paralytic’ at the press conference to announce his This Is It residency at London's The O2, which was scheduled to begin just weeks after he died in June 2009.

               Mark, who is godfather to the star's three children, Prince, 16, Paris,15, and 10-year-old Blanket, told The Sun newspaper: ‘Michael passed out on the hotel bed. His doctor said he'd drunk two-thirds of a bottle of whisky and was paralytic.

He sobered up enough to struggle through the This Is It speech, which he just about got away with.’             Mark, 54, who was a close friend of Michael's right up until this death, gave an interview to the News of the World in August 2009 claiming that he could be the biological father of Paris Katherine Jackson, the late singer's daughter.

              Lester claimed to have been a sperm donor for Jackson in 1996, and announced that he was willing to take a paternity test to determine whether he was the father.

In the same interview he claimed he had not been allowed contact with them since Jackson's death: 'It's very, very upsetting not being able to see all those children; they're my godchildren, and I love them dearly.'
