Tuface, Ice Prince nominated for 2013 BET Awards
Tuface as you know him is no stranger to grabbing international awards. In 2011, he had shared this same award with the Koko master D’banj and Ice Prince although nominated in this category in 2012 had lost it to Wizkid and Sarkodie.
Toya Delazy (South Africa), Donald (South Africa), R2Bees (Ghana) and Radio and Weasel (Uganda) are other African artistes also nominated in the category this year.

2,000 Soldiers, Fighter Jets Deployed To Borno
In neighboring Yobe State, it is not clear how many soldiers were deployed but residents said shortly after the declaration of state of emergency, stop and search operations have been intensified in the state capital while movement have been restricted in other places. Residents said the deployment of the federal troops, including the army, navy, air force and operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) began at the weekend.
We started sensing danger on Saturday when we saw military trucks conveying soldiers to the Joint Task Force (JTF) headquarters along Pompomari area, Usman Jika, a resident of Maiduguri said.
By Sunday morning, so many roadblocks have sprung up in the state capital and there was noticeable cordon and search of houses by new faces (soldiers), he said.
All the soldiers that came to the neighborhood appeared new in the town, some of them said it is now time for ‘fire for fire he said. Another resident said he saw military aircrafts landing at the Maiduguri International Airport and the air strip at the Air Force base in the state capital.
A lot of fighting equipment have been deployed to Maiduguri, Hajja Maimuna, a resident of Gomari, whose house is close to the Air Force base said.
We are really terrified because the military operatives coming to Maiduguri in the last two days far outnumbered those that came during the previous emergency rule, she said.
Even though the state governor has not been removed, which is good, the truth is that Maiduguri is now a garrison town, full of angry soldiers who are ready to kill at the slightest provocation. The deployment will definitely hamper social and economic life of the people, she said.

Boko Haram Kills Christian Association Leader in Borno After Declaration Of State Emergency Rule in the State
Faye Pama Musa was killed inside his Maiduguri residence less than an hour after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a State of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
The National President of CAN, Ayo Oritsejafor, confirmed the cleric’s killing.
Kenny Asaka, the spokesperson to Mr. Oritsejafor, in a brief statement described the killing as “sad.”
Mr. Jonathan had before the incident slammed a state of emergency on Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States, saying it had become necessary for the Government to take extraordinary measures to restore normalcy.
“After wide consultations, and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the provisions of Section 305, sub-section 1 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, I hereby declare a State of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states,” he said.
The killing happened also few hours after a socio-political pressure group, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), visited Maiduguri to commiserate with the state government over the recent Baga massacre.

President Jonathan has declared an indefinite state of emergency in
three Northern states, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, citing insecurity. He
made the announcement in a nationwide live broadcast this evening. With
this declaration, the president has given the military the authority to
take over the security of the states, though all political office
holders in the states would still continue in office.President Jonathan said the efforts at dialogue with militants will continue but will take extra ordinary measures to maintain peace. He immediately ordered troops to be deployed to the states to arrest and detain suspected terrorists, take over of suspicious buildings, and detain persons suspected to be in possession of arms. On terrorism, he said:
"We will hunt them down, fish them out and bring them to justice. No matter what it takes, we will win this war against terror"This action is so long overdue. haba...
