Michael Jackson Estate Targeted by IRS Shocking Tax-Cheating Allegations

0207-michael-jackson-irs

The Michael Jackson Estate is in the crosshairs of the IRS for allegedly cheating taxpayers out of a fortune ... and now the taxman wants the Estate to pay the piper -- to the tune of more than $700 million.
The allegations are stunning.  According to legal docs -- obtained by the L.A. Times -- when Michael died the executors told the IRS his net worth was around $7 million.  The IRS now says MJ's net worth was actually $1.125 BILLION!  And in a HIGHLY unusual move, the IRS claimed executors so grossly misled the agency, it doubled the tax penalty -- from 20 - 40%.  So the IRS claims the Estate didn't pay $505 million worth of taxes, and when you add the 40% it comes to more than $702 Million.
As for what the agency says was under-reported:

-- The Estate valued MJ's likeness at $2,105. The IRS says the value is actually more than $434 million.
-- The Estate valued Michael's interest in a trust that owns songs by MJ and the Beatles at ZERO!  The IRS says its more like $469 million.
-- There's another MJ trust the Estate claims is worth $2.2 mil.  The IRS says it's worth $60.6 mil.
-- The Estate valued the Jackson 5 master recordings at $11.2 mil.  The IRS says $45.5 mil.

It's pretty clear the Estate will fight this like crazy, but worst case scenario the taxes could wipe out what the Estate has made since MJ's death ... which could be devastating for Michael's kids.

We contacted a rep for the Estate who says they stand by their initial statements on the matter ... telling us, "The Estate of Michael Jackson disputes the IRS position in its entirety."

The rep adds, "The Estate used independent, nationally-recognized and highly-qualified expert appraisers in determining the value of the Estate’s assets. By contrast, the IRS consultant’s values are not based on standard appraisal methodology, but rather are speculative and erroneous assumptions unsupported by the facts or law. The Estate has paid over $100 Million dollars in taxes and is in full compliance with the tax laws."

30 others escape death in near plane crash in Abuja

31 passengers, including the son of late Ibadan politician, Lamidi Adedibu, Sen Kamoru Adedibu, escaped death yesterday after an Overland Airlines aircraft they boarded caught fire shortly before take off at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja yesterday.

Saturday Tribune reports that the plane, scheduled for Ibadan from Abuja at 4:52p.m. was about to take off when it started emitting smoke from one of its engines.
One of the passengers who spoke with Saturday Tribune said the about 31 passengers of the plane were already seated before the incident.
“We first observed that engineers were frantically fiddling with the plane’s engine. Then we suddenly saw smoke. It is not funny at all. All of us, including a senator, rushed out of the plane.  “We were subsequently evacuated by airport officials. As I am speaking with you now (8:30p.m.), we are waiting for another plane from Ilorin, which we have been promised will take us to Ibadan. We thank God,” she said.
Senator Adedibu described the incident as a horrible experience but thanked God that it did not happen mid-air.
He commended the pilot, the crew and airport officials for being observant and for the prompt rescue operation. He also confirmed that all the passengers were still at the Abuja airport at 8:45p.m. when Saturday Tribune spoke with him.

Handsome actor Michael Ealy says his wife isn't his type

Handsome Hollywood actor Michael Ealy, 40, married Khatira Rafiqzada, 32 (pictured above with him) in October 2012 after dating her for four years. But now he says she's not his type..

When asked to advise other men looking to settle down, Michael told Rolling Out magazine...
While, I don’t consider myself a person that should write a book, or give advice on relationships, what I will share is my personal perspective.
What helped me along the way was I had two personal friends of mine whose fiancĂ©s died. And I went through a personal struggle where my father got really sick, and I spent a week with him and it just dawned on me that we don’t have as much time as we think. And when you’re done playing games, and you find someone who has qualities that are much more practical as opposed to romanticized ideals, then you've got to hold on to them.
People think that you’re supposed to marry your type … well, I didn’t marry my type. It’s much more practical, and based in a day-to-day existence. So when you have that, and you’re happy, and you love her, don’t waste time. Because time — and I’ve learned that at this point in my life — time is my most precious commodity. Nothing is more precious than time. Because when it runs out … that’s it.

Bieber was a minority of one as he lost his shirt in the crowd but not his bling.  And, even though there were lots of bottles poppin' ... Bieber stuck to bottled water the entire night.

Selena Gomez Entered Rehab For Two Weeks In January To Deal With 'Emotional Issues'

Selena Gomez spent two weeks in rehab in Jan. 2014.
Selena Gomez spent two weeks in rehab last month, RadarOnline was first to report.
Gomez, 21, was admitted to Dawn at The Meadows recovery facility in Wickenburg, Ariz., for "emotional issues" and "partying," The Huffington Post has confirmed.
"Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse," her rep told RadarOnline.
Back in December 2013, a few weeks before entering rehab, Gomez canceled the Asian and Australian leg of her Stars Dance tour. It was later speculated that she had to deal with health concerns, possibly Lupus.
Cosmopolitan.com notes that Gomez's rehab stint coincides with her Twitter absence: Her social media activity came to an abrupt halt at the beginning of January (according to RadarOnline, she entered rehab on Jan. 5) and later picked up again on Jan. 20.
